Get Involved
Engaging urban and rural landowners throughout the watershed, WeCARE will concentrate on community outreach and offer education opportunities. WeCARE partners wish to help watershed residents' increase their awareness of the state of the watershed and the potential pressures it will face in the future. The WeCARE partners hope to connect with groups established in the West Credit and work with them to grow the capacity for volunteer opportunities, community activities and community based ecological monitoring programs.
If volunteering interests you, and you like to get outside and get your hands dirty keep you eyes on your community calendars for upcoming WeCARE Workdays. Spring, summer and fall will be filled with opportunities to plant trees, get into the river and help restore areas, or join local experts for a hike to learn about local flora and fauna.
Landowners and residents of the West Credit can also get involved from the comfort of their own homes. Partners in this project will be reaching out to local landowners to promote beneficial management practices for their lands. WeCARE will also extend their efforts out to local schools, offering educational material and programs to teachers and students, as well as volunteer experience and training opportunities for youth.
