Meadowvale Conservation Area Construction Notice

Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is expanding its main office at 1255 Old Derry Rd., Mississauga. During the next 12 months, there will be construction activity on the office building and surrounding property, including the Glassford and Culham Trails.

We are committed to minimizing the impact this construction will have on the community. However, the Glassford Trail leading from the Waldorf Way Parkette to the administration office, and around to where it joins the Culham Trail east of the storm water pond, will be closed off to the public. This temporary closure is necessary to ensure the safety of residents and visitors who use this trail.

In addition, the Culham Trail is to be realigned where it crosses the entrance road as part of the overall construction plans. The Culham Trail will be temporarily rerouted around the construction site for this period as well.

Visitor parking is not specifically identified at this time; however please feel free to use parking available on site.

CVC apologizes for any inconvenience closing this trail has on the community. This construction project is necessary for CVC to expand its work in the Credit River Watershed. As a community-based environmental organization, CVC is dedicated to conserving, restoring, developing and managing natural resources to promote a healthy and sustainable watershed.

If you have any questions or concerns about the building expansion project or trail closure, please contact Morgan Bonnell at 905-670-1615, ext. 243, or mbonnell@creditvalleyca.ca

About Meadowvale Conservation Area

This Conservation Area is not only the home of the Credit Valley Conservation head office, it is also home to unique natural, cultural and recreational resources. The Credit River meanders through the property and the Glassford Trail takes visitors along its banks and through its floodplain. Keep an eye out for birds of prey in the fields nearby as they search for rodent and song bird meals. If you look closely enough along sections of trail, you may see remnants of early settlement with mill and farm ruins still visible. The village nearby is an Ontario Heritage site.
