Stewardship Title

Land & Water Fact Sheets ("Caring for your Land & Water")

Thank you for expressing interest in the ‘Caring for Your Land and Water’ fact sheet series. This fact sheet series was produced especially for rural non-farm landowners to help them improve conservation and stewardship practices on their properties. The fact sheets incorporate background information and practical ‘action steps’ that can easily be implemented by the landowner on topics concerning their water, forests, wildlife, and homestead. Many will also be of interest to farmers.

The Caring for Your Land and Water Factsheet series was written, produced, and edited by the Centre for Land and Water Stewardship (CLAWS) and the Credit Valley Conservation (CVC). Originally designed as part of CVC’s conservation planning program for landowners, the aim was to provide consistent effective communication on topics of a general nature. These simple one-page information sheets were designed to fill a niche for simple low-cost materials and not to replace or compete with materials produced by the Landowner Resource Centre or other sources.

We sincerely hope that these materials will be useful to a wide audience. Feel free to reproduce these materials for your own purposes in their current format. For anyone considering updates or edits to these documents, we request that you contact Stew Hilts of CLAWS or David Beaton at CVC before doing so.
