Current Campaigns - Conservation Youth Corps
The Conservation Youth Corps (CYC) is a new youth program of Credit Valley Conservation for high school students living or going to school in the Credit River area.
CYC offers high school students practical experience in conservation and natural resource management in a safe and structured environment. This is a chance to become involved, meet new friends and is an excellent opportunity for students to get their community service volunteers hours and/or simply make positive environmental changes in local communities and across the watershed.
How you can support the Conservation Youth Corps:
Plant a Tree with CYC
Heard the expression Think Global, Act Local? Well, we are about to show you what that really means.
Annually each summer, the Credit Valley Conservation Youth Corps (over 200 student volunteers!) plant over 10,000 trees in the Credit River Watershed. These trees soak up CO2, help moderate the climate, protect our water, improve air quality and harbour wildlife.
It’s easy to support this work because the Conservation Youth Corps are planting trees for us all! Join the fight against global climate change by sponsoring the planting of a tree or trees. And we will send you or your loved ones a special Plant a Tree Gift Card acknowledging your gift.
Why not plant a tree on behalf of your children or grandchildren, for Mom or Dad, to commemorate a birth, anniversaries, birthdays, or to mark any special occasion, for that matter? Each card will be personally addressed and will indicate how many trees have been planted for your friends and loved ones.
Please, help us in the fight against global climate change. With your help we will plant 10,000 trees this year.
You can choose to have the “Plant a Tree with CYC” cards sent directly to the recipient or they can be sent to you to deliver personally.
