Who We Are

Making it Work!

When the rushing water of the Credit River starts to look too muddy and brown, CVC's radar starts flashing warning signs. The muddy, cloudy water means there is too much soil and other sediment being carried by the rushing water. That ultimately means death in and along the Credit. Soil erosion, although a natural process, is accentuated by improper land management practices. Urban sprawl in the Greater Toronto area is a major contributor of soil erosion and increase in storm water runoff in the area.

On April 12th, Credit Valley Conservation and the Urban Development Institute will be hosting a workshop on the latest techniques and issues on erosion and sediment control in the Credit River Watershed.

The workshop will bring together developers, contractors, consultants, municipal representatives from all locales of our watershed and other related guests to provide their expertise on this important topic.

You are invited to join us for both the morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session will provide an overview of legislation, draft GTA erosion and sediment control guidelines as well as a panel discussion by experts on erosion and sediment control approaches. The afternoon session consists of a site tour of various locations where you can see firsthand the effects of soil erosion and sediment control.
